Quasarborn - Novo oružje protiv bola
After the Serbian tech-thrashers Quasarborn set a clear scent mark in 2018 with their self-released debut "The Odyssey To Room 101" and the follow-up "A Pill Hard To Swallow" in 2020, the current album "Novo oružje protiv bola" was released on November 10th First released digitally in May 2013.
For the physical release, the guys around band leader Luka Matković have put their trust in a label for the first time with Doc Gator Records. "Novo oružje protiv bola" will be released on September 15, 2023 by Doc Gator Records as a jewel case CD and in various colored limited vinyl editions.
After Quasarborn's first two albums were released with English lyrics, the band experimented with Serbian lyrics on the two pre-released songs "Ne možeš imati sve" in December 2022 and "Novo oružje protiv bola" in March 2023. This was so well received both in their homeland and with international audiences that Quasarborn decided to record the entire album in their native language. This makes the lyrics even more authentic, which tell of overcoming personal struggles, interpersonal relationships, a never-ending search for one's own identity and the struggle of each individual within a rotten system.
Quasarborn have also developed musically. “It's not just technical, progressive thrash metal anymore, there are influences here that range from pop music to brutal death metal, all wrapped up in a recognizable Quasarborn style. Everyone contributed to the songs, many guitar riffs were written by Tihi and Dimitrije and Miloš contributed some nice bass passages and solos - in contrast to our first album, where I wrote most of the material", says Luka about the creation of "Novo oružje protiv bola".
"Novo oružje protiv bola" was recorded, mixed, produced and mastered by Luka Matković at Citadela Studio in Belgrade between December 2021 and April 2023. The cover was designed by Marko Danilović Tihi. The song "Od kolevke do rova" features Nadimač's Danilo Trbojević as a guest vocalist and actor Lazar Đukić performed the recitations on this song and "Menja se".
