The band was founded in spring 2016 by Marcel Knupp (guitar) and Gerhard Baeriswyl (drums) in Kerzers, Fribourg. Christof Schafer (lead guitar) joined them in the fall.
They decided on the band name "Akroasis". This means in Greek both the hearing and the heard and can also be interpreted as a conscious perception of music. From the beginning, own songs were composed, in which all participants contributed.
In 2017, Hänsù Zürrer joined the band as a bass player. Since the search for a suitable singer proved difficult, they recorded an instrumental demo in December 2018 at Little Creek Studio to provide a professional basis for interested singers.
The approach was successful and in June 2019 Robin Hermanek became a part of the band. A first gig was planned for the end of February 2020, which was then cancelled in the onset of the Corona pandemic.
In May 2020, recording of the debut album began again at Little Creek Studio. Work on "Ilion" was completed by mastering in October 2020.

Akroasis say about "Ilion" :
"We are proud to present our first album soon. Endless hours were invested and finally the CD is here! "Ilion" is a concept album, which takes individual episodes from the events surrounding the Trojan War and the homecoming of Odysseus."

The album was recorded during 2020 at Little Creek Studio by experienced sound engineer V.O. Pulver (GURD, Poltergeist) recorded, mixed and mastered.
The artwork was designed by Mayte CG in Spain. She created a great creative artwork that makes the concept album shine in impressive splendor.
