Acroasis - Hubris

The band Akroasis was founded in 2016 in Kerzers, Freiburg, by Marcel Knupp (guitar) and Gerhard Baeriswyl (drums, ex-Anitras Garden). Shortly afterwards, Christof Schafer (lead guitar, ex-distant past) and later Hänsù Zürrer (bass, 2017) and Robin Hermanek (singer, 2019) joined. Their debut album "Ilion" was recorded at Little Creek Studio in 2020 and released as a double vinyl version by Doc Gator Records in December 2021 after initially being distributed by the band itself. The concept album about the Trojan War received positive reviews. Robin left the band shortly after recording, and Mike Brügger was hired as a new member for live performances and the second album "Hubris" (2024). This album was recorded again at Little Creek studio. It marks a musical development towards melodic death metal, with a focus on variety between melodic guitar solos, thrashy parts and brutal death metal.
