MEGORA from Switzerland will surely be remembered by Rock Hard readers from their two demos “The Fog” and “Moonstill Waters”. With “Waiting” there is now – surprise, surprise – the debut CD of the demanding Power/Progressive Metallers. Seven mostly overly long songs (three of them from the "Moonstill Waters" demo) in first-class sound quality, extremely varied and melodically designed, recorded cleanly and provided with unusually intelligent lyrics. In the band info, the music is described as "independent and striking, harmonious and yet confused", which is true with the exception of the last adjective, because MEGORA don't sound particularly "confused". The individual songs are arranged too coherently for that and the melodies are too catchy, which of course is anything but a disadvantage. Friends of melodic progressive bands like Secrecy or Jester's March should get their money's worth here. And because that's who I am, I get eight points.
