Alitor - II
Alitor - II
ALITOR is a progressive thrash metal band from Indjija, Serbia, formed on July 11th, 2011 by Marko (bass guitar/vocals) and Stefan (drums) along with Aleksandar (guitars) and Jovan (guitars). Their intention was simple: to play old school Bay Area thrash metal (in honor of Forbidden, Exodus, Violence, Heathen, Testament, Death). Their first gig, which marked their official start as a band, was a local Battle of the Bands contest where they placed second after just a month of rehearsals.
In December 2012, ALITOR released their first demo, an EP entitled Embittered. This demo was recorded at Citadela Sound Production Studio in Belgrade in September/October 2012. It was produced by Space Eater's Luka "Tower" Matković. Embittered received great reviews from around the world, eventually encouraging the band to start work on their full-length debut. In October 2013, the band began recording their debut album, Eternal Depression, which was released on August 28, 2014 on German label Witches Brew.
Alitor supported the release of "Eternal Depression" with dozens of performances in Serbia and Europe. Together with Space Eater, ALITOR went on a European tour in November 2014 (12 shows in 7 countries). In 2015, ALITOR played several big events in Serbia, such as Exit festival in Novi Sad and Festival Srpskog Podzemlja in Belgrade, which prompted the band to continue their tour of Balkans and Serbia. In spring 2016, ALITOR had an opening slot for Obscura's and Death DTA concert in Belgrade. This show was one of the "breakthrough" moments on the Serbian scene for this young group.
In the summer of the same year, ALITOR recorded a single track entitled "Patterns of Redemption". Once again, the band collaborated with Luka "Tower" Matković at his Citadela Sound Production Studio. The band recorded a video for this single and released it in May 2017. The “Patterns of Redemption” video was shot by one of the most promising Serbian filmmakers – Nemanja Ćeranić (known for “Volja Sinovljeva” ).
ALITOR played alongside legendary Anthrax at Arsenal Fest in Kragujevac in 2017.
After parting ways with longtime guitarist and songwriter Aleksandar Stevanović, ALITOR announced their new guitarist Igor Marinić (ex Prototype Unleashed) in January 2018.
The band performed in the new line-up for the first time on March 17, 2018 at the Srpskog Podzemlja IV Festival in Novi Sad, Serbia.
In November the second album with the simple title "II" will be released on vinyl by Doc Gator Records. The CD version will be released on Ragnarök Records.
